The leaves are changing to their vibrant hues and there’s a crisp chill in the air…you know what that means—it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month! LBBC is headquartered in the Philly-area and a lot of our local partners are doing great things to support us! Check out our Insider’s Guide below for all of the fashionable, foodie and philanthropic things you can do in or near the City of Brotherly Love.
On Thursday, September 26, Rachelle’s Boutique and Designer Consignment, the newest high-end consignment shop on the Main Line is hosting Girls Night Out. With a tag line of “Jimmy. Louis. Christian. Salvatore. Our Men Never Go out Of Style”–what’s not to love? The Bryn Mawr shop’s event will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature hor d’oerves and wine, and a portion of sales from the evening will benefit LBBC.
Kick off your shoes and step into a barrel of grapes! Members of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail are offering grape stomping on Saturday, October 5 at the following vineyards: Twins Brook Winery (2 p.m.), Black Walnut Winery, Borderland Vineyard, and Penns Woods Winery (4 p.m.). Members of the public can join and “Stop For the Cure” with a minimum donation of $5, will go to LBBC and the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Make sure to call in advance to reserve your stomp time!
One of the events we’re a part of this October is Saks Fifth Avenue’s “Key to the Cure.”
Do you prefer microbrews or Italians reds? Whichever you fancy, drink a glass (or two) and support LBBC! Throughout October, Tria (both locations in Center City) and Kildare’s Irish Pub (in Manayunk and West Chester) will feature an alcoholic beverage that benefits LBBC. So if you’re in the city or the ‘burbs, stop by these fantastic watering holes to support a great cause. Kildare’s will also host kick-off parties on Tuesday, October 1 (West Chester) and Wednesday, October 2 (Manayunk), be sure to stop by the fun!
On October 18 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), Saks Fifth Avenue will present “Key to the Cure” benefitting LBBC, and Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. Enjoy sweets and treats, a silent auction and raffle, and take advantage of the Saks Friends and Family Event (up to 25%o ff)— while shopping to support women’s cancers. Seats are limited so pre-register! A $10 donation is suggested. From Thursday, October 17 through Sunday, October 20, 2% of all sales will be split between LBBC and ACC.
